The artist's voice -Podcast

The Artist's voice is a platform for artists to talk about and showcase their form of art. Inviting all artists to express their love for what they do and use this platform to give an insight into their world. All dancers, choreographers, teachers, musicians, singers, composers, creators of art; this is the place to show and tell.

The Artist’s voice

I believe in the importance of creating awareness and showing support for the many creative individuals and organisations who are fighting to create and envision a future where Arts and culture remain important and relevant in our society.

With this project, I want to give artists a louder voice and a platform for them to express themselves as individuals and to share their inspiring stories and perspectives. The arts have contributed a significant amount to the evolution of humanity and society, and we should not forget the individuals who have devoted their lives to the arts; nor should we disregard the artists of today.

I also hope to indirectly contribute to educating the younger generations of the significance of the Arts. The Arts have been somewhat neglected within the educational system. I believe all forms of art are a perfect foundation from which to build a greater understanding and tolerance of each other and an understanding of the value of all forms of art in society.

Daniel Owoseni Ajala: I wanted to do something different and that's why I chose Ballet.

Against the backdrop of humble beginnings in Ajangbadi, Lagos, Daniel's dedication to bringing ballet to his community shines through. His journey from self-taught dancer to founder of a thriving ballet school demonstrates the power of passion and determination.

What strikes me most is Ajala's commitment to providing opportunities for young dancers who may not have access to traditional ballet training. By offering free instruction and seeking donations for dance wear, he's breaking down barriers and opening doors for aspiring dancers in Nigeria. It's heartening to see how his efforts have not only transformed the lives of his students but also garnered support from influential figures in the ballet world.

The challenges Ajala faced in introducing ballet to Ajangbadi highlight the importance of cultural understanding and perseverance. Overcoming skepticism and misconceptions about ballet, he's been able to showcase the discipline and value of dance education. His story serves as a reminder of the transformative power of the arts and the impact they can have on communities.

As Leap of Dance Academy continues to grow and thrive, I have no doubt that it will continue to inspire countless others, both in Nigeria and beyond. Ajala's vision and dedication are truly commendable, and I'm excited to see the impact his school will have on the world of dance in the years to come.
