"Comedy has just developed more as an art form where now, comedians can decide, how much do I want to involve comedy in a topic" says Comedian and Actor, Schalk Bezuidenhout " ....because the silence in the room, if you have a point to make, drives your point home that much harder than putting it in a joke." Schalk is a stand-up comedian in South Africa and he explains why humour can be understood universally and does not have to be specific to a culture. With his stand-up comedy show "Feeling good" he uses comedy but also adds some more personal and thought provoking topics. He feels that every comedian has his own style and way of structuring their show and for him it is important to have this deeper layer to his shows.
