Robert Schofield - Airline Pilot - "Good job, Springbok"

"Motivation is the key word," says Airline Pilot Robert Schofield. "I think for most Pilots the pandemic has taken the wind out of their sails. It's trying to get back on track. You've always had a plan. You've been flying the aeroplane and there's always been a structure to it, and we are structured. Everybody in aviation is in a structured scenario so, if I can't do this and can't do that, then what do I do?" Rob is talking about the fact that it takes adaptability and resilience to go through this situation and he talks with admiration of colleagues who have done amazing things and also helping each other. He also talks about the situation of the aviation industry in South Africa and how many Pilots are having to leave the country to be able to pursue their careers in aviation. Hear more about what inspired Rob to become a pilot and also what his plans are for the future.

His shout out goes to Ons Huisie in Bloubergstrand
