Rebekah Okpoti The Girly organist - Demystifying the organ and looking behind the scenes.

"Maybe we have a slightly different way of viewing what the organ is, The girly organist," Rebekah Okpoti. "For me, I think it's just such an interesting instrument and I would like people to be able to experience it, and so demystifying the organ." Rebekah is talking about how important it is to let people come in close contact with the organ as instrument and also knowing more about what goes on behind the scenes. She tells what inspired her to play the organ and how she transitioned from playing the piano to getting to know the organ. Rebekah calls herself 'The girly organist' and she believes that playing the organ should not just be exclusive to someone who studies the instrument at university level. She also feels that the audience should be able to walk around in the church during an organ recital so that they could experience the sound from the different places in the church. Hear more about Rebekah's recent projects and also her wishes for the future.
