The Heroic Tenor, Jacques le Roux believes that the blind ambition a young person has is the best quality you can have "That blind ambition of 'I'm going to make it, I'm going to do it, that small gap and I'm going to fit it in there. That is the greatest gift. " Jacques also tells how he first went to study law but then realised that he rather wanted to pursue a career as an opera singer. He left his home in South Africa after his studies and was fortunate to start his career as a singer very soon after arriving in Europe, for which he is very grateful.
