Nick Hawke - Captain and Managing pilot - How can we teach the human side of aviation.
"I think if you have a passion for it, don't ever give up on your passion. There's a always ways and there's always means of reaching your dream. That's for sure." says Nick Hawke, Captain and managing Pilot. Nick is talking about his passion for aviation from a young age and the challenges he had to overcome to become a pilot.
Nick's passion is in Crew recourse management. He recently became recertified as a CRM instructor and will now be training Pilots from all ages and experience levels in Crew recourse management. It's about how to teach the human side of aviation; Decision-making, risk management, working as a team, being a leader, communication skills etc.
" I don't believe flying is for everybody. I believe most people are trainable. I have witnessed in my career certain people somehow get their PPL (Private Pilot License) but unfortunately there's a difference between the actual flying of an aeroplane and then what we call the human skills of flying."
