Conductor Jonathan Lo is talking about his new appointment as staff conductor at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. He also has a strong relationship with the Birmingham Royal Ballet as it was this company where he was introduced to conducting in the Ballet world. He was conducting fellow both at the Birmingham Royal ballet as well as the Rambert Dance company and it is here where he gained insight and understanding of how to conduct for ballet. Jonathan is also talking about the difference between conducting for ballet and opera and the importance of communication between conductor and the dancer.
