Joanne Jordan - Airline Pilot- It's not just a job for us. We love going to work.

"You become a family. Every airline that I've been with, you become a very close knit family," says Joanne Jordan who is an Airline Pilot at Safair. "It's a very small industry, it's a small world. You become a family so when you see that broken apart, it's very sad. You go through quite a mourning; First you're dealing with the reality of loosing your job and now you've also lost your family, your aviation family. It's a very difficult situation to be in. " Joanne is talking about the consequences or the pandemic on the airline industry and the uncertain times the pilots also had to go through. She is giving some insight into the years of training to become an airline pilot and how everybody in the industry are so passionate about their jobs. Hear more about what inspired Joanne to pursue a career in aviation and how she coped with losing her job because of the aviation industry that came to a halt. Joanne also expresses her wishes for the future.
