Harpist Alexander Boldachev - From the very first moment I felt comfortable with my instrument.

After leaving Russia, Alexander Boldachev is now stuck at the airport in Istanbul for 4 days on his way to Zürich. He nevertheless took time to speak to me which I appreciate very much. Alexander is talking about the importance of rebuilding relationships between people and how artists also find it difficult in this terrible situation to still make music. "You feel like the music is not necessarily needed. You play the music but it sounds like a bit alien, like it's out of this world. He also talked about how his first got introduced to playing the harp and how comfortable he felt from the start with this instrument. Alexander believes that he should give back what he received and this is why he is also passionate about teaching. He also explains the difference between the way musicians are taught in Russia compared to the rest of Europe and America and feels there should be a middle way where the discipline and freedom in teaching could be applied.

Alexander expresses his wishes for the future, both for himself and also for people around the world. Because he is on his way to Zürich I thought it would be good to ask him to do a shout out to his favourite coffee place there: Felix Cafe am Bellevue
