Eva Carizza. Multi instrumentalist, Conductor: Everything we do is just an added gift to who we are
"I think in the end it has made me a happier person because I ended up realising that my identity or myself worth don't depend on the things that I do or the things that I have" says Eva Carizza, multi instrumentalist, Conductor and singer. She just finished her Doctorate in Music, violin and instrumental conducting at the Frost school of music at the University of Miami. Eva suffers from a a severe type of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome that forced her to be in bed for six years. She became, then, the first person who has ever earned a Professional Degree playing violin in bed. She also prompted a law in Catalonia improving the situation of people with disabilities in artistic degrees—which was finally approved by the Parliament in November 2013. Eva continues to raise awareness and uses her expertise to help artists with disabilities. This is again proof that the voice of one person can bring about so much positive change.
