Etienne Neethling - Lecturer, researcher in viticulture. Sustaining wine identity in climate change.

"It comes back to this word of sustaining wine identity in a changing climate, if we can allow solutions of maintaining the traditional cultivated or signature variety, that is a great adaptation solution." says Etienne Neethling, Lecturer and researcher in viticulture. Etienne is involved in researched about how climate change are affecting the traditional vineyard and how wine growers and wine makers will have to adapt to the change in temperatures as a result of global warming. He also has an interest in the old vine projects and explains why these old vines could hold valuable information about how vines could adapt to climate change. Etienne also expresses his wishes for the future and that there will always be support for the traditional way of farming in the wine industry.
