Edmund Terblanche Winemaker at La-Motte Wine Estate - Winemaking is about timing.

"I think winemaking is about timing. Most important: When do you pick the grapes. After that every step of the way is similar in many cellars, but it depends on what you do and when," say Edmund Terblance, Winemaker at La-Motte in Franschoek. Edmund is talking about the processes of winemaking and the types of wine they are making at La-Motte. He also speaks highly of the winemakers in South Africa who share their knowledge and experiences with each other and are very supportive towards each other. Edmund explains why it is important to learn from winemakers in different countries and he thinks that the success of the winemaker in South Africa is due to the fact that they were eager to explore winemaking in the rest of the world during the 1990's. Hear more about Edmund's approach to winemaking and what his wishes are for the future.
