Christopher Schlesinger - Sculptor. Showing human fragility is part of the expression of each piece.

Christopher Schlesinger, Carving artist and sculptor: That's my thinking, where I say it's a living material and the sculpting I do out of them are humans at the moment. Like humans, they are living. It's a process that shows your fragility, the human fragility, because we think we stay here forever but we don't. You change, you get older, you die, and that's all a process and it's similar to wood. For me it's part of the expression of the piece." Hear more about the work of the Austrian sculptor and what inspires him to create these outstanding pieces.

“Anyone who wants to understand me only has to look at the wood that I have worked on and listen, feel and see what it says, because it shows everything my soul had to say at that point in time“-Christopher Schlesinger
