Being close to nature and listening to the sounds of the forests, the fields and the ocean around her is what inspires Catherine MacLellan to write her beautiful songs. "If you're quiet and can listen to the world around you then you'll generally head in the right direction" says Catherine. Growing up with a father who was himself a singer and songwriter, Catherine feels that he showed her that it is possible to be a musician and that she now can look at his work as being a true inspiration to her. "Song writing for me has always been about communication" says Catherine. She remembers being very shy and afraid of the world when she was younger, so writing songs became a way for her to talk about her feelings and experience without having to say it to someone directly.
