I had the privilege to talk to the winemaker at one of South Africa's oldest Wine estates, Groot Constantia's. Boela Gerber has been winemaker as this historical wine estate for 22 years. He is talking about the changes in the wine industry of South Afrika over the past 20 years and how young winemakers are experimenting and coming up with some great wines. Groot Constantia is situated on the slopes of Table mountain and Boela explains how the difference in climate affects the vines on this estate. Boela gives a wonderful insight into the wine industry and the new developments in the way vineyards are being treated. He recognises the advantages in the organic approach to wine farming and the changes of the past few years in this regard.
