Maria Nazarova - Photoshoot
With its beautiful Art Nouveau interior, the Hotel Kärtnerhof, a gem in the heart of Vienna, was the location of the portfolio photoshoot for Maria Nazarova, Soloist of the Wiener Staatsoper.
I was very excited to have stunning, beautiful dresses from Laskari Atelier and Accessories from Girls Dreams and with a talented Photographer, Lizelle de Wit and wonderful make-up artist, Elnaz I felt confident that we would have a great shoot.
My decision in choosing this location came from the idea of showing a very elegant side of Maria. She told me during our first meeting that she likes the hair styles and elegant dresses of the Gatsby/ 1920’s era and without trying to style a period shoot, I thought the styling should be done with all sorts of twits to eventually have an all glamour, elegant, feminine and sexy feel.
With every dress Maria wore, we could feel a different energy. It reminded me of the quote by Lauren Beukes: “Fashion is only different skins for different flavours of you.” It was wonderful to see these sides of Maria and easy to photograph as it came so natural to her. Maria Nazarova is such a lovely beautiful woman with an infectious vibrant energy. It was such a lovely privilege to do this photoshoot for her.
Thank you to Lizelle de Wit, being all calm and collective, for beautiful photography. I am also grateful to Elnaz for creating gorgeous hairdo’s and make-up, perfect for the style I wanted.
I am adding a few lovely quotes about fashion and style to this blogpost.
